Free Coworking & Workspaces in Abu Dhabi
Finding somewhere decent to work in Abu Dhabi does not always mean paying for a coworking membership or sitting in a café ordering another coffee every hour.
There are a few places where you can bring your laptop, sit down and get some work done for free. We have put together five worth knowing about — from a proper shared workspace in Mina Zayed to quiet public libraries.
Not all of these are conventional coworking centres. Think of this as a guide to free coworking spaces and genuinely useful places to work.

1. M39 / Madar_39 — Mina Zayed
M39 is a coworking and creative workspace in Mina Zayed, and it is our first pick on this list.
WorkBeta visited M39 in July 2026 and confirmed that the shared workspace was free to use at the time of our visit. The space has shared work areas for freelancers, founders, creatives and anyone who needs somewhere comfortable to sit down and get some work done. M39 lists its Shared Workspace as open daily from 9am to 9pm. Because access arrangements can change, check M39's current access policy before making a special trip.
WORKBETA TRIED IT We visited M39 ourselves in July 2026. If you want a dedicated coworking environment without paying for a day pass, this would be our first place to try.

2. MiZa HQ Living Room — Mina Zayed
If you want something more relaxed, MiZa HQ is another interesting Mina Zayed option. MiZa specifically welcomes friends to use its Living Room for coworking. It feels more like a creative community space than a traditional serviced office, which can make it a good place to sit with a laptop for a few hours.
Best for: Casual work, creatives, informal meetings and people who prefer a more social environment.

3. 421 Arts Campus Reading Room — Mina Zayed
421 might be the most underrated option on this list. Its Reading Room is designed for people who need a quiet, creative place to read, study or work. This is less of a coworking environment and more of a calm place to sit with your laptop and concentrate.
421 is in Zayed Port / Al Mina, near Mina Zayed. Its current visitor hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 8pm; it is closed on Monday. Check 421's visit page before you go, especially around events or holidays.
Best for: Deep work, reading, writing, studying and people who want somewhere quieter.
Mina Zayed is surprisingly good for free workspace
One thing became obvious while putting this list together: Mina Zayed is probably the first area we would try if we wanted somewhere interesting to work for free in Abu Dhabi. That is a WorkBeta editorial observation, not an official designation.

4. Khalifa Park Library
If you do not care about the coworking aesthetic and simply need a quiet desk and internet, Khalifa Park Library is worth considering. It is inside Khalifa Park and is a public library, so it makes more sense for focused laptop work than calls, networking or meetings. Probably not the place for a two-hour Zoom call.
Maktaba currently lists hours as Sunday 10am–6pm; Monday to Thursday 8am–8pm; Friday 8am–12pm; and closed Saturday. Confirm before visiting on the Maktaba library branches page.
Best for: Quiet work, research, studying and longer focused sessions.
5. Al Bahia Library
If you are based farther outside central Abu Dhabi, Al Bahia Library gives you another quiet place to work without needing a coworking membership. The library has reading areas, computers and internet access, and is a useful option for people around Al Bahia, Shahama and the surrounding areas.
Maktaba publishes the branch hours, but library schedules can change. Check the current branch listing before setting off.
